HR Consulting in Palmetto, Florida
On-site HR support for Palmetto port and logistics companies, growers and packing houses, marine businesses and distributors of 5 to 100 employees — the first stop over the Skyway, about thirty minutes from my St. Pete office.

Palmetto sits on the north bank of the Manatee River, and it's the first Manatee County city you reach from St. Petersburg — straight over the Skyway Bridge, about 30 minutes door to door. The employers here are working businesses: Port Manatee and the trucking, warehousing and logistics companies that serve it, tomato and vegetable growers and packing houses, boat builders and marine services along the river, distribution operations near the I-275 and I-75 interchange, and a small downtown of family-owned shops and offices along 8th Avenue.
The HR issues are what you'd expect from hourly, physical work. Shifts and overtime nobody has audited. Seasonal crews and the agricultural rules that apply to some jobs and not others. Safety and injury documentation kept in three places. Supervisors promoted from the floor who have never been shown how to handle a complaint or a termination. And I-9 and E-Verify files that need to be right before an audit, not after.
Because Palmetto is so close, on-site work is routine — for many companies it's a shorter drive for me than parts of Pinellas. First meetings, investigations, difficult conversations and supervisor training happen at your yard, your plant or your office. Handbooks, classification reviews and day-to-day questions run by phone and email, usually answered the same business day.
At your yard, plant or office. Remote for the paperwork.
On-site
Most Palmetto clients see me in person for first meetings, investigations, difficult conversations and supervisor training. Same-week scheduling is normal; urgent issues within a day or two.
Remote
Handbooks, classification and overtime reviews, I-9 and E-Verify setup and day-to-day advice run over phone, email and video — answers without waiting for a visit.

Everything HR, delivered in Palmetto.
Same seven services as everywhere else. In Palmetto the most common starting points are wage-and-hour compliance for hourly crews and supervisor training for teams promoted from the floor.

Serving Palmetto from my base in St. Petersburg, FL.
Yes, routinely. Palmetto is about 30 minutes from my St. Petersburg base over the Skyway — closer than some of Pinellas — so on-site meetings, investigations and training at your yard, plant or office are normal, with no travel charge.
About 5 to 100 employees. In Palmetto that's usually a year-round crew of hourly staff plus supervisors, sometimes with a seasonal swing on top — large enough for HR questions every week, too small for an HR department.
Yes. Hourly shifts, overtime, safety documentation, seasonal crews and I-9 and E-Verify compliance are the core of my Palmetto work, along with training supervisors who came up from the floor.
Yes, in your favor. Manatee County has no wage theft or human rights ordinance of its own, so Florida and federal law are the whole rulebook. Florida's E-Verify requirement at 25 employees and the minimum wage schedule are the two most Palmetto employers need to watch.
