HR Consulting in Lakewood Ranch, Florida
HR support for Lakewood Ranch professional firms, medical practices, builders and fast-growing companies of 5 to 100 employees — remote for the everyday, on-site from St. Petersburg when it counts.
New companies, growing fast, on both sides of the county line.

Lakewood Ranch is the fastest-growing business community in Manatee County — a master-planned town east of I-75 that straddles the Manatee and Sarasota county line and has built its own commercial center in the last decade. The employers here are newer and more white-collar than the rest of the county: financial, insurance and advisory firms on Main Street and along Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, medical and specialty practices around the medical center, technology and professional-services companies in the corporate park, and the builders, real estate offices and home-services companies that the residential growth keeps feeding.
Companies here tend to be young and growing fast, which means the HR problems are growth problems. A firm at 15 employees that hired everyone as a contractor. A practice adding a second location and discovering that policies that worked for six people don't work for twenty. A builder whose superintendents have never been trained as managers. And founders who have never written an offer letter, a job description or a termination memo and would like the first one to be done properly.
Lakewood Ranch is about 45 minutes from St. Petersburg down I-75, so most of my work with companies here runs by phone, email and video, with on-site visits for first meetings, investigations, terminations and training. If your address is on the Sarasota County side of the line, the same rules apply: neither county has employment ordinances of its own, so Florida and federal law are what we work from.
Remote for the everyday. On-site for what matters.
Remote
Most Lakewood Ranch clients work with me by phone, email and video: handbooks, contractor and classification reviews, offer and onboarding paperwork, and the questions that come up every week.
On-site
First meetings, investigations, terminations and manager training happen at your office. Plan on scheduling a week or so out; urgent employee issues sooner.
Professional firms, practices, builders, and growing companies.

Serving Lakewood Ranch from my base in St. Petersburg, FL.
Yes, for the things that need it: first meetings, investigations, terminations and training. Lakewood Ranch is about 45 minutes from St. Petersburg, so day-to-day work runs by phone, email and video, and there's no travel charge for the visits.
Financial, insurance and advisory firms, medical and specialty practices, builders and real estate offices, and technology and professional-services companies — most of them between 5 and 100 employees and growing.
Lakewood Ranch straddles Manatee and Sarasota counties, and neither has a wage theft or human rights ordinance of its own. Florida and federal law apply either way, so your address on the county line doesn't change your obligations.
Yes, and it's one of the most common Lakewood Ranch calls I get. I review each role against the federal and Florida tests, convert the ones that need converting, and put offer letters, handbooks and payroll classifications in place so it doesn't happen again.
